Teresa Córdova is a professor at the University of Illinois Chicago and director of the Great Cities Institute (GCI). The GCI is a research hub for all variety of people who are engaged in the research of making cities the best they can be. The institute facilitates public engagement, economic revitalization within communities, and convenes with scholars on a local, national, and international level. Cordova's experience as a community-based planner has been greatly informed her analysis of community development.
